1. Tata Kite 5

Codenamed Kite 5, the compact sedan version of Tata Tiago, was unveiled at the 2016 auto Expo in Delhi. It will carry a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine emitting 84 bhp of power and 115 Nm of peak torque. The diesel trims of the car will be equipped with a 1.05-litre Revotorq mill that churns out 69 bhp of power and 140 Nm of torque. Both the engines will offer multi drive modes – Eco and City. The car flaunts the new design language of Tata Motors – Impact and will have a wheelbase of 2450 mm. It will be affordably priced and will lock horns with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Figo Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo.

2. 2017 Hyundai Verna

2017 Hyundai Verna is one of the most anticipated of all upcoming sedans in 2017. It is expected to be launched in India by mid 2017. Based on the 2.0 Design Philosophy of the company, it will host striking design features like projector headlamps with LED RDLs, large hexagonal grille, a sloping roofline and a redesigned C-Pillar. Inside, it could get a redesigned instrument cluster, large sunroof, new leather upholstery, i20 inspired steering wheel, and updated touch screen infotainment system with GPS navigation. The car will see no mechanical changes.

3. Honda Accord Hybrid

Honda Accord Hybrid, the advanced, stylish and luxurious hybrid vehicle, is all set to be launched soon in India. The carmaker will re-enter the Indian premium sedan segment with this offering. The vehicle is likely to host a 2-litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine along with an electric motor that produces close to 300 bhp of power and 306 Nm of torque. This one would be one of the most expensive of the upcoming sedans in 2016.

4. Chevrolet Essentia

Chevrolet let us have a glimpse of its new compact sedan named Essentia at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The car will be based on the popular B segment hatchback Beat. It will rival Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and the upcoming Tata Kite. The Powertrain on this car would be 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines, expected to produce 77 bhp and 55 bhp of power output respectively. Both the engines would be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Chevrolet cars are known for their wonderful fuel economy and Essentia would continue the trend. It will be one of the most fuel efficient of all upcoming sedan cars in 2017 and will offer as much as 20-25 kmpl of mileage on the diesel version and 18-20 kmpl on petrol trims.

It has been seen testing Vios sedan extensively and plans to introduce it late in 2017. It will be positioned above Etios and below Altis. Powering this car would be the 1.4-litre and 1.5-litre diesel mills along with the 1.5-litre petrol engine present on Etios, Liva and Thailand-Spec Vios. It will host a sporty and daring front profile and will be adored with host of features like automatic climate control, 2-din music system, dual airbags, ABS etc.

6. 2016 Honda City Facelift

This most loved sedan in India has been facing stiff competition from the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, that was launched last year. The 2016 avatar of City will make the contest more exciting. The new facelifted project of this car has been codenamed as 2GC.
