The entry level car from the Korean brand, Kia Picanto is a good option in the entry level hatchback segment to compete against Chevrolet Beat, Maruti-Suzuki WagonR and Celerio, Tata Tiago, Chevrolet Sail UVA and Toyota Liva. If introduced, then it will be positioned somewhere between Eon and Grand i10, replacing the existing i10. Considering the engine, internationally it is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol motor but, in India the car can do well with a 1.0-litre motor as well.

What Hyundai misses in its lineup is a practical and efficient MPV but Kia can fill this gap very well with Kia Carens. Carens is not only practical enough to accommodate 7 people with ease, it is also a car with all the comfort and advanced features that can dominate the Indian MPV segment very well, as Suzuki Ertiga, Renault Lodgy, Chevrolet Enjoy and Honda BR-V still lags somewhere in providing a luxurious feel to the occupants.

Any manufacturer’s lineup is incomplete without an SUV and Sportage is the one prominent SUV among Kia cars that has the capability to compete against Mahindra XUV500 in an effective manner. Though it is not a seven seater, it has all the capability, gizmos and styling features that can grab the attention of the prospective customers with ease.
There are other Kia cars as well, which might get introduced in the Indian market but, to start the reign, we think that Kia will adopt a bottom to top strategy in introducing its complete line-up to get maximum return on investment. Let’s see when we get to see the new brand rivaling the prominent auto brands in India but, it is sure that once it is introduced in the market, the auto industry will see a major change in terms of market share of each automaker.
