Camouflaged cars have been running down the roads since the very beginning of auto era. They can be either considered as a necessity, as they are the protagonist of the car testing period. And at times they are even considered as the perfect hype creating tool by the automakers. Photographers go crazy and shed a lot of sweat to capture these masked babies in their camera.
Here, through this article, we bring you the most hyped camouflaged cars that were captured on camera during the cloud busting month of August.
1. 2016 Toyota Fortuner

One car that has earned a special mention in the said list is the 2016 Toyota Fortuner. The car has been spied running on the Indian roads for over three times, with the latest mule seen mapping the Bangalore frontiers.
As for all-new Fortuner launch date, it is expected to fall either somewhere near this year end or early 2017. Engine specifications regarding the said car are still unclear but there seems to be a room for a 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre turbo diesel GD units.
Also, the SUV seems to be inspired by its recently revamped MPV sibling Innova and shares certain cabin clues with it. On the dimension front, new Fortuner is 90 mm longer and 50 mm wider over the existing version. However, it maintains the same wheelbase figure of 2,750 mm.
Justifying its new tag, 2016 Fortuner brings along up-market amenities like electrically adjustable driver’s seat, electric tailgate, cruise control, push start/stop button and reversing camera. The safety profile is enhanced by additions like A-TRC Traction Control and Down Hill Assist Control.
2. Next-Generation Chevrolet Beat

Next in the list of camouflaged cars is the much-talked about and highly awaited car in the Indian market, next-generation Chevrolet Beat. Beat is one of the most successful Chevy kids that has kept company’s name intact during the most difficult times. So, the car rightfully deserves a revision and the same is expected to arrive by early-2017.
The new Beat will still rest on the carried over M300 platform, but will feature revised styling. The spy shots reveal that 2017 Beat has borrowed design related clues from Chevrolet Spark, the one running in the international markets. Thus, when unveiled the car is expected to carry exterior features like Chevy dual grille, roof rails, circular foglamps, lower bumper and re-positioned number plate.
The cabin is sure to carry high-quality material usage, be it on the dashboard or one covering the seat. To give the Beat a gen-next look there will be present features like 7-inch MyLink infotainment system, dual-tone dashboard and bike-inspired information binnacle.
Beat under hood configuration is revised and is most likely to tally – 1.0-litre petrol and 1.0 TCDi diesel engine.
3. Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift

At last, some movement on the Grand i10 front. It has been three years and that too very successful ones that Grand i10 has served the Indian shores. Recently, a camouflaged Grand i10 was spotted, partly covered from the front, side and rear, hitting towards a possible facelift in the near future.
This facelift is considered to be limited to a few cosmetic up gradations on the exterior and interior front. The engine tuning is expected to remain untouched and so it will continue to feature a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.1-litre diesel mill.
On the exterior front, one can spot redesigned bumper and grille with new diamond-cut alloy wheels on to the side. Cabin changes are not yet clear but as per the on-going market trends; we are expecting a touchscreen infotainment system.
4. Honda WR-V, the Jazz based crossover

Now, in the list of camouflaged cars here is the one that has not been spied on the Indian roads but holds a great possibility to land on our shores sometime soon in 2017. We are talking about Honda Jazz based crossover, the WR-V when launched will be positioned below HR-V. As per the recent spied images taken in Brazil, the camouflaged car looks like jacked-up Jazz with sporty body styling.
The off-roading version of Honda Jazz is said to make its first public debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. Also, there are speculations going around that South America will be the first country where the car will first go on sale.
As for its specifications, it is believed to be powered by a 1.5-litre 115 hp (petrol)/116 hp (ethanol) producing mill that also supports Brazil based Honda Jazz. As for the Indian market, we are expecting the car to be driven by a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel options.
5. Volkswagen Ameo TDI

Volkswagen Ameo has been on sale in the Indian market for quite some time now. But, what we have currently is only a petrol powered compact sedan from VW, whose diesel sibling is still missing from the catalogue. But, with the recently spied images of Ameo with TDI badge, all the hassle has been ended. The car is expected to launch around the festive season and is expected to hold a starting price of INR 6.05 lakh.
The VW Ameo diesel trim will house the updated version of 1.5 TDI engine and like the petrol variant it will be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. An option of seven-speed DSG transmission system is also on cards for the diesel version.
As far as the cosmetic changes are concerned the car will be a hundred per cent copy of its petrol sibling. Except for the fact that it will carry a TDI badge on its boot, speaking out loud of its diesel mill.
