BSIV Compliant 2017 Honda Aviator Launched In India

As Indian government has made it mandatory for the manufacturers to upgrade its lineup with the BSIV (Bharat Stage 4) regulations, Honda has introduced another updated model after Activa 4G. Yes, 2017 Honda Aviator has been finally launched by the manufacturer in India at a starting price of Rs 55, 077 (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the latest launch, the Aviator lineup now consists of five variants.

The list of variants includes Aviator Drum, Aviator Disk, Aviator drum (BSIV), Aviator drum alloy (BSIV) and Aviator Disk (BSIV). Apart from BSIV compliance, the updated model also comes with Automatic Headlight On (AHO) feature. This feature is also a mandate for the manufacturers to incorporate in their respective lineup and no manufacturer will be allowed to sell their vehicles without these features.

The 2017 Honda Aviator has not just updated on the features front but it has got new dimensions as well which measures 1802 mm X 703 mm X 1162 mm (L X W X H) and holds a wheelbase of 1,256 mm, which is quite decent in the segment. Under the hood, it is powered by a BSIV compliant 110cc engine which delivers 8hp maximum power at 7000 rpm and 8.94 Nm peak torque at 5500 rpm. Further, the engine is coupled to a V-Matic CVT.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 6-litres while under the seat, the scooter offers 20 litres storage space. The color options of 2017 Honda Aviator include Pearl Amazing White, Pearl Igneous Black, Rebel Red Metallic, and Matt Selene Silver Metallic. The two color options, Pearl Amazing White and Matt Selene Silver Metallic-finished Aviator gets brown molded seat and a distinct stylish inner cover. Other key features include 5-spoke alloy wheels, under seat mobile device charging and 190mm disc brake.

Honda Aviator has not managed to match the caliber of its sibling scooter, the Activa till date but, with the updated Aviator, the company might change its market share in near future.
