Good news for the auto enthusiasts, Volvo India has imported multiple units of the XC90 R7 variant into India. The same model was imported a month before for the process of homologation. Hence, it is quite clear the Volvo India is planning to introduce Volvo XC90 R7 in the market soon. The ‘R’ in the nomenclature refers to R-Design version and this new variant is granted with some cosmetic changes. Some of the notable changes include a gloss black finish on the front grille, a redesigned front bumper, larger rear spoiler, matte silver ORVMs and more sporty five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels.

In the cabin, the seats are covered with Nappa leather with R-Design branding, a darker headliner, and carbon fiber inserts to give a sporty touch. Under the hood, the Volvo XC90 R7 will be powered by 2.0-litre diesel engine which produces 225 hp maximum power. Known as one of the safest cars on the planet, the new variant will also hold features like Volvo’s ‘Pilot Assist II’ system, which helps the car in maneuvering at 130 kmph on the highways with minimal driver inputs. In addition, it also gets Run-off Mitigation System and Animal Detection system, which further improves the safety grades of the Volvo SUV.
