Toyota Vios Can Be Seen On Indian Roads Soon

Toyota has finally escalated its plans of introducing the B-segment sedan in the Indian market. This can be stated as Toyota Vios has been caught testing multiple times on Indian roads now. Previously, Toyota India imported Vios for homologation and now there are multiple test rides conducted and this time around Mumbai with temporary Karnataka number plate. Though the Toyota Vios was spotted with camouflage, it was easy to identify the car with just logo covered.

From the spied images, it is evident that the new generation Vios has taken some styling cues from Camry. Some of the evident features include alloy wheels, electrical ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and bold headlights. But, in the production version we expect that it will be featuring a projector headlamp or LED. In terms of dimensions, the Toyota Vios measures 4,410 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,475 mm in height. The wheelbase counts to 2,550 mm which is same as that of Etios.

Under the hood, the global version is offered with 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines. For the Indian market, the same engine configuration is expected and will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of safety, ABS, and dual front airbags are expected to be standard across all variants. Previously, there were rumors that Toyota will hold the production of Etios and Etios Liva but, a few days back the brand has already introduced their facelifts, hinting the car will only add up to the line-up. Toyota is still in the process of approving Vios for India and after the approval, it will take another 7 to 8 months for its launch.
