After Maruti and Hyundai, Tata is the next manufacturer who has come up with a price hike news. Tata Tiago was introduced with a very competitive price and a lot of segment leading features like Harman Kardon music system. The advanced technology and impressive performance have lead to its enormous popularity, further leading to a waiting period of 3 months. The Tata Tiago price has been raised by up to INR 6,000 depending on the variant.

The Vice President Of Sales & Network, SN Barman said, “The introductory price of Tiago is very competitive to hold on and due to this, the manufacturer has raised the prices of Tiago by up to INR 6000.” Initially the things were absurd for this Tata’s hatch. The car was first named as Zica, and then was changed to Tiago, which resulted in delay of its launch but, after that rest is history. The manufacturer still has to deliver 23,000 pending deliveries. Currently the car is being offered with two engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre “Revotron” petrol mill which delivers maximum power of 85PS and peak torque of 114 Nm.

The other is 1.2-litre “Revotorq” diesel units that delivers 70PS maximum power and peak torque of 140 Nm. Not only this, each engine option is also offered with drive mode selector for better driving experience. Even on the mileage front the manufacturer claims 23.84 kmpl for petrol engine and 27.28 kmpl for diesel mill, and the real numbers are quite close to it. Considering the features, you get “ConnectNext” infotainment system by Harman which is further compatible with USB/AUX/Bluetooth connectivity and 8-speaker sound system. In addition, a cooled glovebox, tilt adjustable, multifunction steering wheel and two-tone design theme all together gives a upmarket feel.

On the safety front, the car features dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD and corner stability, which makes this hatch way above in the segment. The meager price range in the Tata Tiago price may not affect the growing demand of this hatch anytime soon and let’s see which automaker come up with a price hike news other than Tata, Maruti and Hyundai.
