Skoda Rapid Facelift To Be Launched On November 3

Good news for the ones who are looking to buy Skoda Rapid in near future, according to one of the automobile media houses of India, the Rapid facelift will be launched on November 3. After its entry in the Indian market in 2011, this will be the first big change in the sedan. Skoda Rapid facelift spyshots were revealed several times before and now the launch date is also sailing on the Internet. The changes in the Rapid facelift include a ‘butterfly’ grille flanked by angular headlamps and refreshed bumper design.

The changes in front styling are inspired from the updated Octavia and Superb, while the rear profile has been kept intact by the Czech Republic automaker. In the cabin, there are no major changes and the sedan continues to feature a dual-tone dashboard. The top end variant of Skoda Rapid facelift will feature a touchscreen infotainment system with the MirrorLink and Bluetooth support, GPS navigation, phonebook, SMS viewer and reverse camera. Upgradation in the engine configuration include a 1.5-litre TDI four-cylinder engine, which first featured in the Ameo.

The power output varies from 105 PS to 110 PS and peak torque remains 250 Nm. For the diesel engine, transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG. The petrol option remains unchanged and the Skoda Rapid facelift will continue to feature a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder MPI engine, which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The updated Rapid will be positioned against Honda City, Suzuki Ciaz, Fiat Linea, Renault Scala, Nissan Sunny and Volkswagen Vento. The first innings of Rapid has seen a significant response from the customers and with an updated version, Skoda might get more market share in the near future.
