It seems like Skoda is taking each and every step to create a hype for its upcoming SUV. The marketing team of Czech automaker has released new teaser images of Skoda Kodiaq. Along with the teaser images, the automaker has also announced the release date of the new Kodiaq SUV in the Indian market. Previously the SUV was showcased as the Skoda Vision S concept, the same concept which will be used for its upcoming crossovers and SUVs. The Skoda Kodiaq is the first mid-size crossover which will be launched first. Once it will be in the market, the Skoda Kodiaq will be the next flagship model for the automaker after Skoda Superb. Based on VW Group’s MQB platform, initially, the SUV will be offered with three TSI petrol and two TDI diesel engines. Though the SUV was fully camouflaged, one can clearly infer the styling cues of the Skoda Kodiaq.

The sharp laser headlights with daytime running lights reflect the aggressive look of the SUV. The similar headlights were witnessed in the VW Vento, which was showcased in the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. But unfortunately, these lights are not offered for the model available for consumers. The wide wheel arches show that this SUV is prepared to take on rugged terrains with ease, and the wheel size further complements them in an effective manner. Talking about the potential of its engines, the three petrol engines will be able to deliver a maximum power ranging between 125 PS to 180 PS. While the two diesel engines will further raise these numbers to 150 PS and 190 PS.

For the European market, the all-new Skoda SUV will go on sale in early 2017. Whereas, the Indian market will receive it in the second half of 2017. Still, it has to be seen whether the automaker will offer the SUV in 5-seat or 7-seat option but, whatever may be the case, this SUV will surely give a hard time to the existing players.
