Nissan Micra has been running in the country from quite a long time and has been able to make a decent name in the country. But, this average performing car in the Indian market has been liked around world very well. Nissan Micra has become the most exported car for the month of June 2016 and it has come as a surprising news for the Indian car lovers. The Japanese automaker has been able to ship 6,807 units of Micra in June.

Nissan has been manufacturing the Micra hatchback at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, near Chennai. This Japanese hatch is being exported to more than 100 countries including Britain, Switzerland, Germany, and the largest market of it, Italy. Started its operations in 2010, Nissan has been able to export 620,000 cars till date. Currently, the Indian market is offered with two options, Micra and Micra Active, with 1.2-litre DOHC 3-cyl engine. This significant engine delivers a maximum power of 68 – 77 PS. The bubbly design, efficient performance and top of the class comfort are some of the factors that have lead to the impressive export figure of this Nissan hatchback.

Contrary to the impressive performance of the car in the foreign markets, the Indian Nissan has managed to sell only 554 units in the country during the same period. Looks like the car is lacking behind the segment leaders in India. Apart from this, Nissan is not only improving its profit numbers through the extensive exports but, also contributing in the Government’s Make in India initiative, making a total contribution of INR 30,000 crores in foreign exchange. Let’s see how Nissan Micra performs in the coming months not only in international market but, growing Indian market as well.
