Next Generation Toyota Fortuner Might Launch In Late 2016 Or Early 2017

Toyota Fortuner needs no introduction, this SUV has been ruling not only in Indian markets but, many other markets as well. And now it is time that the car starts its second innings with a refreshed styling. The Japanese automaker is planning to introduce the next generation Toyota Fortuner in India by the end of 2016 or early 2017. According to speculations, Toyota India can fast-track the launch of its flagship SUV, as the diesel ban has been lifted in Delhi NCR.

Compared to the existing model, the new Fortuner will be 90 mm longer and 15 mm wider while 2750 mm wheelbase has been kept same. This Toyota SUV has been already on sale in many Asian countries and has already grabbed a significant response from the customers due to its power packed performance and bolder look. At front, the Fortuner has received a new set of headlamps with dual-beam LED projectors and LED DRLs. The front grille and fog lights have received chrome garnishing while the sculpted contours on the redesigned bumper further adds sportiness in an effective manner.

The interior borrows a few cues and trim materials from Innova Crysta, and has been able to reflect a distinct appeal from the existing model. The next generation Toyota Fortuner might be suit up with features like A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC) system, LED projector headlights with daytime running lights, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 7-inch infotainment screen with satellite navigation system, cruise control, reversing camera and push start/stop button.

Under the hood, the new Fortuner will feature two engine options: 2.4L and 2.8L four cylinder turbodiesel while it is not clear whether the company will bring 2.7L VVT-i petrol engine or not. Both the diesel options will be coupled with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission, while 4WD system is likely to be equipped only with the top end variant.
