Locally Assembled Mercedes Benz GLC SUV To Be Launched On 29 September


After replacing the GLK Class globally, GLC SUV was first showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016. After the launch of Mercedes Benz GLC SUV in India in June, the German automaker cleared that it will be manufactured locally in the country. And now, the locally assembled GLC SUV is all set to make its entry in the market. This launch will be one of the 12 launches of the company for the current year. Along with consecutive launches, Mercedes is also focusing on improving its dealer network, which will help the company in maintaining its leading position in the country in different segments.

The GLC SUV is based on the new C-Class MRA architecture and offers more space, comfort, luxury and power than the GLK Class. The luxurious cabin of GLC features a single piece central console, rotary air vents and hooded instrument panel and updated COMAND Online infotainment system. In addition to this, class leading safety features will be also on offer in the upcoming SUV. The Indian variant of GLC is powered by a 2.1-litre four cylinder engine that produces maximum power of 170 hp and peak torque of 400 Nm.

The GLC SUV will be also offered in petrol variant which will house a 2.0-litre four cylinder engine, producing 245 hp maximum power and 370 Nm peak torque. Both the engine options will be mated to 9-speed auto transmission. To be placed between Mercedes-Benz GLA Class and GLE Class, the GLC SUV will be priced between INR 45-50 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
