Toyota’s luxury division has finally made its way to the Indian market with its two prominent models. Yes, Lexus RX450h and Lexus ES300h are launched in India today. The company has commenced its operations in India with three dealerships that are located in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

Considering the Lexus RX450h, the SUV is offered in two variants – RX Luxury and RX F-Sport. The Lexus RX 450h Luxury is priced at Rs 1.07 crore while the F-Sport version is tagged at Rs 1.09 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available for sale from today. The RX is the company’s most successful hybrid SUV to date and is considered as a benchmark for most of its competitors like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
The RX450h possess the brand’s latest styling cues which include X-shaped front grille, chiseled flanks, sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights and smooth character lines on the bonnet. The overall dimensions of the SUV measure 4889 mm X 1899 mm X 1719 mm (L X W X H) and the wheelbase stand at 2789 mm. The SUV is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 VVT-i petrol engine which is further coupled to an electric motor and delivers total power output of 304 hp.

Another hybrid model of the company is the Lexus ES300h which is launched at a starting price of Rs 55.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The ES300h sits in the mid-sized luxury sedan segment and will compete against the likes of BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Volvo S90 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. To the added advantage, the ES300h is the only hybrid car available in the particular segment.

At the front, the ES300h features Lexus signature spindle grille flanked by a pair of sharp double barrel projector headlamps with LED DRLs. An aggressive bumper with round LED foglamps with chrome hook element around it further accentuates the front profile. The luxury quotient is added with a wide stance while the distinctive L-themed tail lamps change the overall appeal of the car. The car measures 4910 mm X 1821 mm X 1450 mm (L X W X H) and wheelbase stand at 2819 mm.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.5-litre four cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine which is coupled to an electric motor. The total power output measures 200 hp while the peak torque is 211 Nm. The engine is coupled to an E-CVT. The car can run on either pure electric or petrol or a combination of both.
