It is not long that Jeep India has started its operations in India and we have some series of big news from this American automaker. First, it was the launch of India bound Jeep Compass in Brazil and now the decision of bringing back the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer will act as the flagship SUV of the brand and will be rivaling against the likes of Land Rover Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. Both, Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer are likely to be launched in 2018 as a 2019 year model.

In 2011, FCA hinted that Grand Wagoneer will be introduced and in 2014, the brand confirmed the launch for 2018. And now, At the ongoing Paris Motor Show 2016, Jeep’s head honcho, Mike Manly, confirmed the arrival of both the said SUVs and the range-topping SUV could be priced between $130,000 and $140,000 (approximately near INR 1 crore). As Jeep India will introduce more models to extend its market presence in the country, we might expect Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer to be launched in India as well. As the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer has just entered the development phase much information about the SUVs is not present.

According to speculations, the Grand Wagoneer will be based on the Grand Cherokee platform and a twin-turbo V6 and V8 from Maserati will certainly be offered in the 2019 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. What we can expect from the upcoming Jeep’s offering is to take things to the whole new level for Jeep, making a significant impact in the segment. Apart from this, Jeep’s plan to introduce Compass in India next year is confirmed and experts also hint that, Jeep Renegade will also find a place in the Jeep India’s line-up soon.
