Industry experts believe that Hyundai India is thinking to postpone the launch of Hyundai Tucson, as it can hinder the sales of its another upcoming car, the Hyundai Elantra. As, the SUVs are catching more attention from the customers of India, company does not want to take chance with the all-new Hyundai Elantra. For this, the company might hold the launch of its SUV sibling and push sedan in making a significant position in the market.

Hyundai India has decided to assemble both the models with the CKD kits at good localization levels, which will help the company in marking both the cars with a competitive price tag. Both the cars will enter a market which is very competitive and in order to keep things smooth and positive for both the cars, this step might act useful. According to sources, Hyundai India will price Tucson between INR 17 – 22 lakh, while Elantra will fall between INR 12- 18 lakh (both ex-showroom). Tucson is expected to be packed with a 2.0-litre CRDi engine, delivering power outputs of 136 PS and 184 PS. Coupled with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission, the SUVs performance is expected to be improved from the previous generation.
