In order to make its foot strong in the Indian market, Honda WR-V is all set to make its entry. Based on Jazz hatchback, Honda WR-V will be a crossover hatchback which will be battling against the likes of Etios Cross, Polo Cross, i20 Active and Fiat Avventura. The Japanese automaker will showcase the WR-V at the upcoming Sao Paulo Motor show 2016. The first image of WR-V has been released by Honda South America giving an idea of the design of the upcoming cross hatch.

At front, Honda WR-V gets an aggressive bumper with muscular touches along with a prominent chin. The headlights are also different from Jazz and is likely to get its kink at the bottom. On the grill, thick chrome finish is prominent just like on the other recently introduced model, BR-V. In order to achieve a rugged look, muscular front fenders, prominent body cladding on the wheel arches and on the doors are expected. The taillights will be also different from the Jazz along with the tailgate and the number plate is likely to move below on the bumper. However, on the interior’s front Honda’s plan are still unclear and WR-V might share the design theme with Jazz.

The engine configuration might include a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 90.6 hp and a diesel option of 1.5-litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC with 100 hp maximum power. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox for the petrol engine and a 6-speed manual for the diesel option. The cross hatch segment is catching pace at a significant rate and most of the automakers have already introduced their respective models and with Honda entering in the segment, the competition will surely heat up. Let’s see how Honda WR-V will perform on Indian soil and manages to gain a significant market share. The Honda WR-V will be the next big launch after BR-V in the country.
