Ford Ecosport Signature Edition Launched


Ecosport has played a major role in boosting the sales of the American automaker, Ford. In order to keep the interest of the Indian buyers intact with the crossover, Ford Ecosport Signature Edition has been launched at a price of INR 9.26 lakh (ex-showroom). To some extent, the Ford Ecosport Signature Edition is similar to the black edition which was launched previously. The special features include LED Daytime running lights positioned below the round fog lamps, bumper appliques, and some graphics on the body.

Inspired from the Ecosport Black Edition, the Signature Edition also gets the all-black exteriors which include the front grille, alloy wheels, ORVM covers, fog lamp bezel, headlight assemblies and roof rails. In the cabin, the changes include illuminated scuff plates, and black vinyl seat covers with red stitching. These changes in the cabin are not done at the manufacturer’s end but, the dealer will provide all these features on the existing Black Edition variants. Considering the power mill of Ford Ecosport Signature Edition, the crossover is equipped with either a 1.5-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel. Both the engines are mated to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed DCT.

At present, the Ford Ecosport is facing competition from Mahindra Nuvo Sport, and till now, it has managed to maintain its dominance over its rival. But, with the introduction of Honda BR-V, the customers have got a new option of accommodating 7 people without compromising on the off-roading front, and this might create some issues for Ford, as Ecosport is available with two rows only and the price difference is not that significant. Ford Ecosport Signature Edition does not hold any significant changes or features that a consumer might want very badly but, let’s wait for the response it gets from the customers and see how well it performs in its respective segment.
