Datsun GO, GO+ Style Editions Launched In India


In order to add some charm in the styling of Datsun GO, GO+, the automaker has introduced special editions of both the cars. The Datsun GO, GO+ Style Editions have been launched at INR 4,06,974 and INR 4,77,552 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. The notable changes in the newly launched cars include roof rails, rear spoiler, body graphics, chrome finished exhaust pipe and limited edition ‘Style’ logo. The Datsun GO, GO+ will be available in a new Blue, White and Ruby colors.

There are some minor changes inside as well and one can find dual-tone dashboard, centre console with piano black finish and silver inserts, and dual-tone faux leather seat covers. Under the hood, the Datsun GO, GO+ Style editions are powered by 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which churns out a maximum power of 67 hp and peak torque of 104 Nm. Both, the hatch and the MPV will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both the cars are expected to be available from August – October 2016 only. Arun Malhotra, the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, said, “We will continue to serve our customers with exciting models that highlights the brand’s identity of Japanese technology along with exclusive, modern style quotient.”

Datsun has been able to attract a significant number of customers despite lacking in any sort of glam and exclusive features. But, the special edition of the hatchback and the MPV might help in attracting even more such customers who are looking to have an affordable budget car with a decent styling quotient. In the market, Datsun GO faces competition from Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Celerio and Hyundai i10.
