Camouflaged 2017 SsangYong Rexton Seen In China

SsangYong Rexton has witnessed a significant response in the Indian market and now the spied images of SsangYong Rexton has reflected that the SUV is geared up for its next innings. The official debut of the Rexton will take place in the upcoming Paris Motor Show and the 2017 Rexton will be the fourth-generation of the SUV. From the spied images, the design elements are not clear due to the heavy camouflage.

But, some noticeable characteristics are edgier headlamps and horizontal tail lamps, which are quite similar to the current generation model. The next-generation Rexton will be based on an all-new platform, and the styling will be inspired from SsangYong LIV-1 (Limitless Interface Vehicle) concept, which was first presented in 2013.

As seen in the image, the cabin will be also refreshed with a new three-spoke steering wheel, a restyled dashboard, centre console and plush seats. The upgradations are not only limited to only styling but, on equipment level as well. The 2017 SsangYong Rexton will be equipped with an advanced touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers. But, the list is not just limited to these features, there will be definitely more for the customers, as the SUV will be competing against the new Fortuner and recently launched Ford Endeavour.

Under the hood, all-new Rexton will be offered with an improved Mercedes-derived 2.2-litre diesel engine which is currently featured in the Euro-spec Rexton. In addition to this, the 2017 SsangYong Rexton will also be accompanied with 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine to enhance the options range for the customers. Not only this, before Rexton, SsangYong is gearing up for the launch of Tivoli, which is expected to arrive in the Indian market later this year. It seems that SsangYong is trying to get a strong hold on the SUVs and Crossover segment, looking at the popularity of the above-mentioned segments.
