For both the fuel options, the BMW 3 Series GT is powered by a 2.0-litre engine which is further mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The odd shape of the body is still intact while the front bumper has been restyled to give a distinct appeal. Even the front headlights and taillights are reprofiled. The wheels are now upgraded to 17-inch which further improves the grip of the GT on road. The cabin is somewhat identical to the 3 Series but, with an additional legroom at the back due to large wheelbase. The minor changes in the cabin include more usage of chrome, and wood around the controls.

The new 3 Series GT is available in Arctic Grey and Jatoba Metallic color option and is a more practical version of the standard 3 Series due to more ground clearance and boot space. The direct competitor of BMW 3 Series GT is Audi A5 Sportback but, in India Audi is not offering A5 series. Therefore, the Grand Touring is in a market segment which has no other player to challenge. The previous version of BMW 3 Series GT had a significant response from the customers and with some significant changes in the styling and new power option, more customers might get attracted towards this BMW’s offering in an effective manner.
