After introducing Audi Q8, the German automaker is now gearing up to introduce another model in its Q lineup. Yes, at the annual press conference of the company, Audi announced that it will be bringing Audi Q4 by 2019. The five-seater Q4 will be competing against the Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X2. The upcoming SUV will be based on the MQB platform which is also underpinned in the Q3. The Q4 is the upgraded version of Q3 and surely it will be bigger in terms of providing more space and comfort, which will set it apart from the competitors.

In terms of design, the Audi Q4 will be featuring a heavily curved roofline and liftback-style tailgate. In the cabin, it is expected that the SUV will be in line with the other MQB based models of the company. The equipment list will include 9.2-inch touchscreen navigation monitor, inductive smartphone charging and the latest connectivity features.

Under the hood, the Q4 will be offered with new generation petrol and diesel units with common capacity measuring 1.5-litre. Further, they will be accompanied with updated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine and 2.5-litre five-cylinder petrol unit with maximum power up to 406 hp in the range-topping RS Q4 model. As hybrid cars are catching pace, the Q4 will be also offered with a plug-in electric Q4 e-tron model with an electric-only range of up to 50km.

Audi Q8 has already made a significant impact with its plug-in version and we can expect that in near future, all the prominent automakers will come up with their green cars to make a significant impact in the market. There is no confirmation about the launch of Audi Q4 in the Indian market but, looking at the high demand of SUVs in India, the German automaker might introduce this here as well.
