Last Updated On: September 2, 2016

After the Hyundai Elantra, the South Korean automaker was working to introduce the updated Verna in the global markets. And today, at the 2016 Chengdu Motor Show the manufacturer has finally revealed the 2017 Hyundai Verna. The sedan is expected to go on sale in China fist, followed by other markets. Just like its elder sibling, the all-new Verna also features Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, which is quite evident from the wide hexagonal grille, sleek headlamps with projector lighting, and LED DRLs. The bumpers with angular foglamps are also tweaked to give a bit sporty touch to the sedan.

Further, the C-pillar and moulded spoiler accentuate the overall design language of the 2017 Verna in an effective manner. The all-new Verna now measure 4,380 mm in length, 1,728 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2,600 mm that gives enough space to the occupants to have a pleasant ride. The interior design has been also inspired from the recently revealed Hyundai Elantra. The China-spec model follows an all-black interior theme with silver trim around the center console and HVAC vents. The other features include automatic climate control, 8-inch touchscreen AVN system and engine start/stop button.

Considering the engine options for China, it will be offered with 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines that develop 100 hp and 123 hp maximum power respectively. Both the engines will be offered with an option between 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. It is expected that the new Verna will enter the Indian market next year and will be offered with petrol as well as diesel engines. The engine capacity of the diesel engines will be same as that of the petrol ones offered in China.

Hyundai has seen a significant improvement in the customer’s response towards the brand and a series of new upgrades in the line-up would further help this South Korean automaker in enhancing its market share in an effective manner.
