The much acclaimed ‘I’ family of Hyundai holds some of the most loved cars in its fleet. One such popular car, Hyundai i30 is ready to debut at the upcoming Paris Auto Show 2016. The 2017 Hyundai i30 will be presented along with other prominent models of the company in the show from 29 September. Known as Elantra GT in the US and Canada, it will continue its badging in the third generation as well.

The 2017 Hyundai i30 is inspired from the sixth generation Elantra and will be a hatchback form of the same. As it is inspired from the saloon, it is likely that the exterior styling and the cabin will be also quite similar to Elantra. The company has planned a GT version for 2018 Elantra, which will be only available in the hatchback form. The 2017 i30 will be available as a 5-door hatchback and a 4-door estate and a coupe in European market. The company will discontinue the 3-door version this time due to the poor sales count of the current generation.

Not just styling, the engines as well as transmission will be shared with the sixth generation Elantra. The 2017 i30 will be also available in the performance variant, named i30 N. This is the first time that Hyundai is presenting a commercial model from the N high-performance sub-brand. Based on Hyundai i20 WRC the i30 N will be equipped with 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine.

The South Korean brand has not offered i30 in the Indian market yet but, as the brand has showcased it in the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, we may expect its announcement for the Indian market. If the car gets good response then 2017 Hyundai i30 can be considered for the Indian market. And it will be the beginning of the C-segment non-luxury hatchback segment in the country.
