Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched facelifted versions of Etios Liva hatchback and Etios sedan in India today. The latter has been termed as Etios Platinum by the company. As compared to the earlier models, both versions of 2016 Toyota Etios are up to Rs. 35,000 cheaper.

The latest edition of 2016 Toyota Etios Liva now falls in the price range of Rs. 5.24 – Rs. 6.28 lakh for the petrol trims and Rs. 6.61 lakh – Rs. 7.44 lakh for the diesel trims. Etios Platinum, on the other hand, is now priced between Rs. 6.43 lakh – Rs. 7.44 lakh for the petrol variants and Rs. 7.56 lakh – Rs. 8.87 lakh for the diesel variants.
This is going to be the fourth facelift of 2016 Toyota Etios hatchback and sedan versions. Some cosmetic changes and interior upgrades have been bestowed to give a sportier and edgier feel to both these vehicles.
The exterior design changes on 2016 Toyota Etios Liva and Etios Platinum include a re-designed grille, new front bumper, along with minor updates to the rear bumper and tail lights. Etios Liva 2016 additionally gets a factory dual-tone paint job. A trendy look is lent by the alloy wheel fitted on top trims. The cabin gets improved seats with new ivory coloured upholstery. And the new part-digital instrument cluster looks much stylish than before.

New features like rear parking sensors, rear centre arm rest, electric folding wing mirrors, and standard ABS have been introduced inside the cabin. While the dual front airbags have been carried forward from the previous model, ISOFIX child seat mounts on the rear seat comes as an additional safety feature.
2016 Toyota Etios Liva and Etios Platinum boast of a more stiffened chassis. The suspension has also been tweaked to improve the overall performance. Also, new engine mouldings and improved cabin insulation now makes the cabin more comfortable.

Both Toyota 2016 Etios Liva and Etios Platinum carry on with the same line-up of engines that include 1.5-litre petrol motor emitting 90 bhp of power and 1.4-litre diesel mill churning out 68 bhp of power. Both the engines continue to be mated to 5-speed manual transmissions.
With these revisions, 2016 Toyota Etios Liva and Etios Platinum will give a tougher fight to competitors. While the updated Etios Liva will compete against Maruti Swift and new Ford Figo, Etios Platinum will take on the likes of Ford Figo Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest.
